Job Description: X-ray Technician
Job Summary:
An X-ray technician is responsible for operating X-ray equipment to produce images of patients for diagnostic purposes. The technician works closely with radiologists to ensure accurate and timely image acquisition.
Responsibilities:
�� Prepare patients for X-ray examinations by explaining procedures, positioning patients correctly, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
�� Operate X-ray equipment to capture clear and diagnostic images according to established protocols and guidelines.
�� Maintain and calibrate X-ray equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality.
�� Process X-ray images and prepare them for interpretation by radiologists.
�� Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to X-ray examinations.
�� Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and the environment.
�� Assist radiologists during invasive procedures as needed.
�� Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
�� Participate in continuing education programs to stay updated on the latest X-ray technology and techniques.
Qualifications:
�� Diploma or Associate��s degree in Radiologic Technology.
�� Certification from a recognized professional body (ARRT, etc.).
�� Strong knowledge of X-ray equipment and image acquisition techniques.
�� Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
�� Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
�� Attention to detail and accuracy.
�� Physical ability to lift and position patients.
